Well you can start by the obvious disconnected hose and if you don't find any loose fittings or loose hoses, then you have to pull off the black flex loom and look for cracks. Sometimes finding vac leaks are a pain in the butt. But if you are getting all these codes from a leak it's probably gonna be a big one. maybe even your intake manifold gasket is leaking. or the seal between the egr or throttle body. Vacuum leaks can come from alot of places. I know that doesn't help alot, but it's just a time consuming process. if you take a piece of like 1/2" tubing and put one end up to your ear and use the other to probe around fittings and hoses, you can usually hear a hiss. Or you can buy one of those mechanics stethescopes, but some cheap old rubber hose works about the same.

If it's a vacuum line, then you can buy it at your local autoparts store for about 25 cents a foot.

What do you mean by " like morse code"? Is it a whistling sound or a ticking sound? If it's a whistling sound like escaping air, then it's probably a vacuum leak or a leaky gasket. If it's a ticking sound its your valvetrain or fuel injectors.

I wouldn't unplug your injectors with the car running. It will just dump alot of unburned fuel into your exhaust and foul up your o2 sensors. You fuel injectors are supposed to click a little anyways, that's just what they do. The vacuum line going to the egr valve itself shouldn't be as strong as the others. It's regulated by egr regulator valve it's plugged into. that little canister that the short line that goes into the egr valve itself is plugged into, bleeds the vacuum pressure off so that the egr is only on when it's supposed to be. so that's normal to.

If your putting in a new motor, then why worry about this stuff anyway. Your car should still run fine with the egr glitching. Just deal with the light. I had some problems with mine a while back and I unhooked the egr valve and plugged the line until I got it fixed. You can't even tell a difference and I never even got a CEL with it unplugged.

Will having that problem with the charcoal canister cause a bad idle? Mine sure is getting worse and worse. Its almost like it has a mild cam in it. (err cams) Got new wires, and plugs. Fuel filter is fairly new. Its never idled very smooth, but its worse now. I've gotten "multiple cylinder misfire" before and everything. Something is for sure wrong. I hear ticking on my car too. pisses me off. I think next oil change im gonna do an engine flush
