With the mach 1000 sub, the keyless entry module is tough to get to. But it is the next thing I will look to disconnect. I discovered that when the door lock is pressed to lock the doors, the brake lights go on. This is without fuse (which of course blows immediately when installed).
Anybody with remote keless entry module failure experience? (as a side note, this #8 circuit has had a battery drain on it for about a year)
I unplugged the keyless entry module and the short went away. Plugged back in to verify. I'll replace the module.
For anybody whois interested: I made a short tester using blown fuse. I soldered two wires to it and connected the other ens to my test light. I plugged the tester into the blown fuse spot and placed the light where I could see it. It goes out when the short is eliminated.
