82 gt with 408 stroker steering prob

i have a 408 stroker in my 82 gt and as i put it in with the bbk long tube headers. the steering knuckle next to the header is rubbing against it. is ther any way to put a regular joint there or eliminate the big bulky joint? please help this is my big hold up.

you need a shaft kit with universal joints, something like this...

Either beat the piss out of the header tube?Or get a flamming river shaft with joints. peace

If you do not need but an eigth inch, you can try loosening the bolts that hold the steering shaft to the dash and firewall and pushing the shaft over and retightening.
