84 gt flywheel question

sooooo i was taking off my flywheel and bam oil started coming out of one of the bolt holes, probably about a quart came out. Is this normal? Ive changed quite a few clutches on other cars and never seen this happen before.

on these older mustangs are the bellhousings pretty brittle? I had all the bolts out and was just taping the bellhousing to get it off and the top left corner broke off where a bolt goes.

Yeah some times oil comes out of the bolt holes. Put a new rear seal in while your down that far.

And it don't take much to break a bellhousing. They are cast so there easy to break. Just take it and have someone weld it back on.

The oil is normal. SBFs have the flywheel bolt holes drilled all the way through the crank. Be sure to use sealer on the bolts when you put it back together.
