85 5.0 Having Trouble

I got an 85 mustang gt the wiring is all messed up in it, i replaced the fuel pump with an electric one because my old one cut out and now when it heats up no fuel gets in the carb and the engine dies. The fuel pump is in the engine bay right now should I move it nearer the gas tank? A lot has gone wrong with it it really needs a full overhaul

Here's a video of it dying View: http://youtu.be/9ez4DltkbFY
