I just purchased a stock '85 HO engine that appears to be in good condition but I'd like to pull some more horse power out of it (300+ range). It has the stock roller cam and heads, as well the stock 4 barrel alum intake. I'd like to keep it carborated and avoid forced induction. Any suggestions on cam or alum head upgrades? Is it a good idea to stroke an HO motor?

Any help or advice is appreciated!

If you don't know whether or not the fuel pump has been upgraded, I would do it early. I just replaced mine and it was like night and day.

It has not been upgraded or replaced, but I will do that.

It's kind of a pain, but well worth the time. Especially if you are having any performance issues
