Another amateur question, I was thinking about switching to 3.73 gears (from my 90 lx) for my 85 gt, but i don't think 85's have a 8.8 rear end..... What size does the 85 have and what are my options if its not a 8.8? Any help is appreciated.

Nope.... In 85 they upgraded the front and rear sway bars....

1986 was the first year of the 8.8. Ask me how I know...

Yes the '85s came stock with a 7.5. When in doubt, just use this chart to tell what you have...my car had an 8.8 in it when i got it.

those gears from the 90 lx are the same as the 85 gt, they will bolt right in.

I am pretty sure he is talking about a V8 '90 LX (8.8) not a 4 cyl. '90 LX (7.5).
