Hi All,
I bought an 85 mustang GT today 17000 actual miles.
I drove it home 68 miles with no problem till the last two street turns I did. On those two turns and now, when I turn my car going forward or backward there is a grinding noise around the left rear wheel when I turn left, and vice versa.
I did use the emergency brake a couple of time before I got home, when i stopped somwhere.

Or did something mess up in my rearend??
Kev :bang:

first you need to jack up the rear of the car and check the brakes and shake the axles up and down, there should be very little up and down movement also check for fluid seepage around the axles(telltale sign of worn bearings)if all else checks ok then check for adequate rear end grease,if ok then possibly you have a worn limited slip unit or the friction modifier may have worn out and you need to add some more to the rearend.

I'm with ratrapp - I think I'd drain the rear end fluid and add the right amount of new fluid and friction modifier. Even with only 17k, it's possible the fluid is original and in DIRE need of replacement. See what happens after that.
