whats the computer for in the kick panel of my 85 mustang? the engine is carbed and i want to put it in my 93 mustang, how hard will this be? there is a hole for a distributor in my 93 block. can i remove the freeze plug from it and just swap the top half of the motor over instead of the whole thing?

The computer is actually for the carburetor. The car has a Carter feedback carburetor and the TFI-IV ignition used on EFI cars. The computer system is the same as on the EFI cars (if you notice, your carb has a throttle position sensor, idle speed motor, and control solenoid on it) but instead of controlling injectors, it controls a dithering solenoid on the side of the carburetor that varies the amount of air bled into the fuel mix. My 86 Capri had the same system until I backdated the system to a 1980 Mustang-Capri 2.3L setup with Duraspark ignition and a 2 barrel Motorcraft 5200 carb. Depending on what you are planning to do with the system, I can probably help you do your conversion. Keep in mind that the 1993 head is different than the 1985 head. Also, there is no provision in the 1993 block for a fuel pump so you will need an electric low pressure (8psi) pump.
