New to the group. I have a 93 mustang with the 2.3l engine. It turns over but will not start. I have fuel pressure at the shrader valve and hear the pump kick on. I also have spark. I am most experienced with cars before computers but know my way around an engine. Looking for ideas of where to look next and troubleshoot. Looks like previous owner threw alot of parts at it and don't want to continue that way.

Did you get the car as a non-runner?
First order of business is to give it a shot of starting fluid, if it starts then it's a fuel issue, if not, well you know.......
EFI systems need verification of things like fuel pressure, just because some fuel sprays from the schrader valve does not mean enough pressure.

it was running before buying it. when I picked it up it wouldn't start. I tried a little starting fluid and didnt help. I tested the fuel pressure at valve and got around 39 psi.

Have you tried to pull codes from the ECU? Even if the CEL (check engine light) is not flashing there can be codes as the CEL only flashes for emissions related codes.

I won it at an auction so unknown previous owner. I pulled codes and only got 111 which I believe is what normally comes up? When cranking it, it almost fires. I'm starting to think something in the computer or a corroded connection somewhere.

Ok, I gotta keep remembering it's a 4 cyl
Hummmmm.........tried to start when it got a snort of either  here's some things that I'd look at, compression comes to mind first, plugs new? Copper plugs, the cheap, everyday common plugs, anything else is wasted money, I'm wondering if it needs a new rubber band (timing belt)or it was replaced but not setup correctly
