hey there i have a 86" convertible and my headlights, horn and cigarette lighter dont work, i checked the fuses and blew #16, replaced it but no go, is there a fuse or relay close to the battery that also blows?
problem happened after i plugged in an accessory to the cigarette lighter socket.

+ instrument panel lights don't work either
high beams work
any ideas?

Is there power into the fuse?

There should indeed be a fusible link that provides power to the fuse itself. They are normally located off the solenoid but I haven't looked under the hood of an 86 in a long time.

most often the cigarette lighter socket goes bad, shorting stuff out. I've had a penny fall into one before.

the instrument panel lights get a direct wire from the back of the headlight switch which feed it. You can probe that wire for voltage at the back of the headlight switch, and at the inst panel.

I'm going to link you to a chunk of gold. I have the 86 electrical and vacuum troubleshooting diagram and I spent hours scanning the entire thing. (it's out of print and is a ford shop manual)

Download this to your computer. In it, you'll find the wiring diagrams for your headlight switch, and everything else

Hey HISSEN, I may have an extra 94/95 input shaft if you're looking for one...you can use it to convert a standard fox t5 into a 94/95 piece

btw, there is a 3.8 bell from a 94/95 on ebay right now, not sure if it's the same width. there are 2 94/95 5.0 bells in ebay stores, but they're $150~!!!

kudos to HISSIN50 and v8only's for the diagrams :hail2:
fusible link solved headlights and instrument panel

cigarette lighter had an and cap from a car charger or something in there,
needless to say problem solved
