Ive got an 86 gt that i want to convert to mass air.. can i just use a 89 Mass air harness to convert it.. will the harness hook up to the dash harness or do i need to do some modding?? need some help pls
all you need is the mass air meter wiring besides the other obvious stuff. to hook up the wires to the eec-iv, you will need four terminals to connect to the ends of the wire. go to www.fordfuelinjection.com you can get some or most of the little parts there.
The 89 will work, a 90 wont so make sure its an 89. The 90 and up had air bags and a cpl diff plugs. If you try do it with a 90 and up harness it wont turn your fuel pump on. If you have the 89 harness, sell it for a hundred bucks or whatever you can get out of it, buy the conversion harness off of ebay for 35 bucks and pocket the xtra 65 bucks or take your old lady out to dinner with the extra money and say look at all the money i saved by buying parts for the stang lol.
