'86 T-Bird T/C does it have 8.8?

I bought a '86 turbo coupe t bird for parts on a mustang turbo engine swap, I was wondering if I got lucky and also got a 8.8 rear end?

It has the rear sway bar and quad shocks.

more than likely it's a 7.5.i don't think they put the 8.8 in turbo coupes until 87.they had 3.73s for a/t cars and 3.55s for manual cars.

Unless somebody swapped one in, no it would not have an 8.8. Easiest way to tell is to look at the brakes...if it's got drums, it's a 7.5.

thats not 100% true. My 86TC came factory with an 8.8 with drums, quad shocks and sway bar. There are a mix of 8.8 and 7.5's in the 86's

I found out there is alot of weird stuff on the 86's Some guys i know on NATO have 86's with an E3 manifold and small Vam. while mine has the E6 brown tops and the big Vam. Lovely ford work!

I had a Ford enthusiest buddy check, it's got an 8.8 for sure.
