87-93 air deflector install help

My car never had an air deflector as long as i've had it. I just got one recently but i don't know which way it goes. Can anyone supply me with some photos of their own under the car to see where and how it goes.

Cant get any pics right now but if you look under the front bumper cover, you should see 4 bolts that screw into the bottom of the cover, just past where your condenser and radiator is. The defelctor bolts righ there. bolt holes to the rear. It will force air up from under the car to the radiator.

I know that,but what i don't know is what side of the deflector goes facing out of the bumper. Well one side is rough and has the ford sticker on it i just noticed,that must be facing back to the rear of the car then.

Yes sir, you are correct. Thats why I said Bolt holes to the rear.

Ok,thanx. Now i just have to buy some bolts,lol. Anyone know the size and what type of bolts they are?

The holes on my 89 are not threaded, the bolts screw into speed nuts. So you will most likely need to buy some nuts as well as bolts. www.50resto.com probably sells the correct hardware, or you could find something similar at a hardware store.

If you already have the speed nuts the bolts are 1/4".

Thanx,i have some nuts and bolts in a box in my backyard,i'll look through that,if not buy some.

I didn't know what speed nuts were untill i saw a pic of them in 50 resto. Does discount auto or autozone sell them??I don't want to order them cause its take a while.

I'd get matching speed nuts and bolts from the hardware store, as mentioned.

The black plastic spoiler looking thing that mounts under your front bumper area and directs passing air up to your radiator. A very small amount actually makes it to the radiator via the grill area.
