It'll work. I think it'd look wicked too. If I can't find an RS Capri nose for my Capri, I'm going to put my Saleen airdam on a regular Capri nose.

Have someone photshop it for you....And as fitment goes, my neighbor tried to put the 87-93 sytle one on his 85 and it didn't fit right, now its sitting in his garage. I dont think it will look good, but thats just my opinion. Ever seen the '85-86 front valance on a '85' 86 mustang? It looks terrible. The same would go if you could make the 87-93 front valance fit on it.... I'm not raining on your parade, its just my thoughts. More power to you, it would be different for sure...

I've been around a few Saleens in my life. A friend of my Ex owned one, an '86. He even let me drive it. I think that '86 you posted looks good. My brother in law had a red 1990 Saleen vert. My Ex and I had a 1990 Saleen clone too. It was done right and was stolen before it was complete. I have one picture of it. My Capri used to be a Saleen clone. LOL

I love Saleens. Well, the foxes, anyway.

If you look on the back of the Dugan Racing catalog (at least on mine but it's old) there is a red 4 eye with the 87-93 saleen valence on it, looks pretty good.

That may be the car i'm thinking of....there's an '85-86 in an old 'mag with the '87+ valance on it. It has to be rivetted on and smoothed over but that's not a huge deal. It looks F'in awesome on those year noses....that was my plan before i found my Pacecar nose.

The bumpers are not shaped the same. They are close enough to makeit work tho. You can make anything work it you want too. Hell I have the bottom half of a eclipse front bumper on a neon.

The only shape issue is with the corners of the bumper vs. the corners of the valance, as they're a tad more square on the nose than the valance...but the valance is flexible enough that i'll go on and take the shape.

I'm surprised this isn't a more common swap really. It probably wouldn't look right on an '84 or earlier nose but the '85-86 are just round enough to make it work.

No chop needed. http://www.fquick.com/garages/Ford/Mustang/1986/7220 The car is a genuine Saleen but has had the air dam replaced with a later one. Personally I like the '85-'86 one better, but that doesn't look bad either.
