I guess that big silver thing in the fuse bix is called a driver switch...and I guess one of the terminals are always hot? and I need to insert the red probe from a multimeter (or was it the black?) and set the meter for 12 volts, right? If so I will need to replace my multimeter and try it. My meter stopped working.

Oh hey Gary - I did not catch it was your thread the first time around.
The silver thing is the circuit breaker. One side should be hot at all times. The other side should be hot, if the breaker is working. When the breaker trips (and before it resets), the other side will be dead.
Then at the window switch, there is one wire (cant recall the color - it is a large gauge wire) that is hot at all times. That needs to be there (that is where the circuit breaker wire finishes off).

The circuit breaker only works for the windows. The locks are on a different circuit. I originally hooked up just power locks and used the original harness connection in the drivers side kick panel, a two wire harness. I didn;t need the breaker with just locks, but with windows it was needed. One of the wires in the connector is the window power (pink), the other the lock power. So if they both stopped working at the same time, I don't think it is the breaker causing both to fail. Maybe the ground wire in the drivers door is loose? Or the door harness is somehow disconnected from the main harness, or by some chance both power supplies are shorted or blown. I would find the connector in the kick panel and test it for power too.
Huh. They must have changed it when they went to airbags then. Because in my fuse panel I have a CB for the airbag and one for the wipers. When I put in my 01 GT seats, I was messin around with the CB's and found the one under the hood.
Probably a CB reset or,..... if you run into the same problem again, try moving(wiggle) the wire harness bundle between the door and the body, door open of course, with ign on, while you press the window or power lock buttons; if they start working, that section of wires need some repairs.
This is a small detail that is usually overlooked, years of openning and closing the door will take its toll on the wires flexing back and forth, irrespective of the flexing cover it comes with; I know mine needs some work in that area. My 2¢.
