i got 1987 ford mustang gt, 293 horse, i have NO clue why it won't spin on a dead spot. even if im rolling like 1 or 2 km..it won't spin.i don't understand..i have to be a t stop with my foot on the brake..and hit the gas and let the brake go then it will spin..its stupid..i mean i have lotsa of upgrade, and i shold have no problem roasting the tires of this ****. but im not sure. any ideas i thought it is something inn the drivetrain but need advice.i don't want to change evertything and waste thousands of dollars on rear end or tranny. thanks

If I get the car fast enough to have the clutch comletely released and punch it it won't spin. I have to punch it doing like 2k or higher for it will spin, but then it'll spin 'til the top of 2nd. Anything below 2000 and it'll dead hook.

That's normal for an auto, even with 300 HP

Is possible that your toes are simply to soft and hook up instead of spinning. I thought that was what we're all trying to accomplish.

I'm thinking he figured out the problem over the last 10 years.

You know it's guys like you that ruin forums for people. I will give you the ten year old post. I missed it. I was trying to help. I'm 59 years old and new to this but I do know my Mustangs. Have a great day.

Please don't take take the sentiments the wrong way - his was a common response for this scenario. Old thread bumps happen occasionally (and often it's from a spammer).

If you're new to posting on forums, it's quite understandable that an old thread might be bumped. No worries.

Welcome to the forums - sincerely.
