T-TOPS, BBK HEADERS, FLOWMASTER EXHAUST, CENTERLINE WHEELS, COBRA BACK & FRONT BUMPER, COBRA SPOILER, 5 SPD., 8.8 REAR, 3-73GEARS MOTOR 302 BORED 30 OVER...RUNS GOOD BUT NEEDS OIL PUMP, BACK PANEL NEEDS TO BE PAINTED, WAS A 13 SECOND CAR...

what im concerned with is the oil pump... could there be any motor damage to the car with this problem... any feed back will be greatly appreciated

Well if the pump went bad it could have ruined the entire motor. could have burnt up main bearings, bent rods, scorched pistons and rings, burnt holes through rockers or if roller rockers burnt up there bearings and scalded them (seen it done) burnt up cam and cam bearings but then again it could have went out and he caught it and quit driving it. hard to say tell him you want to hear it run before you buy it. just my $. 02

so saying he did catch it in time there would be no motor issues with it... whats the best way to tell if the motor still runs... i just dont want to get it and burn the motor up a day later

replace the pump and crank it or give hima really low amount of money for it and if you fix it and it does run give him the rest he is asking? just my opinion.
