So i save up some cash to buy a fox and now im regreting it. I bought an 88 nochback thinking it was in better shape it is. I start pulling the car apart to fix it up a little and i find all kinds of problems, this car was getto riged to the max, and it was done buy some hill billys, its fixable but a pain in the ass. im not sure if i want to sell it and take what i can get out of it, of just go all out and turn it into an all track car. just wondering what others would do in this situation ?

Thank you. Come again.

sorry i cant get any pics up, no camra and to old of a PC, and some details are it has a b303 cam, 3.73 gears, some old ass flowmasters, performer 1 uper and lower intake, cobra heads, 24 pound injectors. its not really the mods that are riged up its all the little crap, like the spedomitor is out, all the wireing looks like a nightmare, and im pretty sure its been in a wreck and all the weather striping is almost gone. thats not the stuff i already fixed just whats left to fix.

Im sure if you keep at it you can fix all the small stuff.

Sounds like it has some decent amount of parts on it. If you sell the car you wont get the value of them. I would lurk ebay and junkyards, and bring the motor back to stock, that may actually bring the value up. Try to hide the bad wiring as much as possible and sell it. Keep the parts, and use them on a better mustang. Though fixing it shouldnt be too difficult.

Or find another stang with a good body and wiring, then transfer all the good parts to one car and all the bad/stock parts to the other car. Then sell the other car to recoup some of the money.

But really...if those are the only problems, it doesn't sound too bad. You're going to have a hard time finding a fox body that doesn't have at least a couple of problems. How does the car run? If it has a strong engine and the body/interior aren't too bad - I'd keep it and fix the small problems.

i agree.

if you already started putting money into then know you wont get it back. If you seriously think it's been in a wreck, then don't spend another penny and take it to a body shop to find out if the frame is straight...if not straight, cut your losses and sell it. Building a track car or dd won't matter if the frame is bent. If it's fine the make a project out of it. Stop saying "its rigged" and just challenge yourself to restore it.

you ask what we would have done in this situation? I would have walked away from buying the car if the weather stripping was almost gone...that means moisture and other elements got in.

Ask yourself what answer are you waiting for us to tell you.....at the end of the day its your ride, your cash, your time buddy.

Good Luck!

im thinking i should get my alinment strait and just work out all the crappy rigged stuff, the engin and trans are in good shape so i might as well go for it. thanks for all the coments.
