88 piston valve clearance

What is the valve clearance spec for stock pistons (88gt)? The deck height is stock and I am using brand new gt40 iron heads. I want to run the x cam with 1.72 rockers. This should give me a lift of .554. Will valves be bangin pistons?

Pretty darn close if you ask me. Not actually recommended as an acceptable combination unless you feel like notching or fly cutting your pistons. Recommended ratio is the 1.60 rockers.

I'd be surprised if that works. I just put milled 58.5cc GT40P heads with 1.90/1.54" valves on my 88 GT car and with the worst deck height of -.009", .039" for the gasket, the stock cam and 1.6 roller rockers (.448 highest lift) and had .133"I & .149"E on the clay. Your .106" more lift and even if the heads are not milled, your gonna be close.

correction: The x cam with 1.72 rockers will give a lift of .583. I sure they will hit.
