Just wondering if anyone has ever done a side exhaust setup on an F-Body mustang? How it sounds? Looks? Clearance?

My current setup is BBK Headers, Custom H-Pipe, Full Dynomax Exhaust.

Looking at getting Flowmaster 40 Series exiting before the rear tires. Any info, pics, sound clips would be great. Thanks Alot.

A member who got banned on here did it (Joe). He had a lot of ground clearance problems with speed bumps and driveways and such. Also, I didn't really think they looked all that great.

oh and by the way, its a FOX body, not an F-body. We drive mustangs in here, not camaros.

I saw one that was fabricated not for the faint of heart. I think his screen name is 393 Bird. This guy has an MN12 thunderbird and had the exhaust come out the side of the rocker panels right behind the doors. He had it come through the floor and exit out the sides. He was saying its kida loud inside, but it looks badass:SNSign:

so I see that there are actually people that read forums for the single purpose to be smart a@@'s. But ohwell. Thanks for the comments and suggestions I have got some very good ideas from a couple of links. That t-bird does look bad a@@.

yeah i have my fox side piped. comes off the stock h pipe or in my case x-pipe into 2 summit glass packs and then about an inch out in front of the tire. Looks and sounds awsome with the turbo. Redoin it all this winter so we'll see how the new setup sounds, but it's stayen side piped cas i love it! I got vid of it at idle N stuff if you guys would like to hear it let me know.

OK i got a link for the vid just click it and i'll open up a page with media player etc and play it. Don't mind the crappy tips cas it was snowing when i finally got it runnen so there all crapped up. Once i get em all leaned up they'll shine like chrome again. Looks sweet when they are all shinned up ppl love em thats one of the first things they notice (after the intercooler  )

I used to have a homemade side exit system on my car before the lifter collapsed in the 5.0, the setup had an offroad H, shorty headers, flowmaster 1 chambers, box tips, motor had a b303 cam. Im currently producing a similar but better looking setup for the big block.

Heres a sound clip of the side exit with flow 1 chambers on the 5.0: http://www.northcoastmusclecar.com/CCV/1.wav

Heres some pics of the setup:

Where there is the will, there is a way. I have always loved side exit exhaust, but with my Bird being lowered, I had to work out a way to do it with out ground clearance problems.

Here is how it ended up.

I was going to run something like that on my car, I started making it but stoped. I got it to where it was at the right spot but didnt put tips on it to put it out, it would of looked funny, and i didnt like the bending the pipe in a U shape to make it work. Ive got dumps on my car and i had flex pipe over them and out to the side, but now im just gonna go with a cobra bumper and tips.
