have a 95 that's getting a new 331 w/way better breathing: intake, heads, long-tubes, x-pipe. it's been suggested that i ought to use an 89 processor because the program's more aggressive. plan to use a tweecer, of course you can get an 89 program...any opinions on whether i should tweec the 95 or swap for the 89? i believe the parameters are all the same, so once i'm tweecing, shouldn't make any difference. any comments, suggestions, advice welcome.

Before all of the self tune interfaces came out that was one of the few options avaiable to tune 94-95 Stangs.

Now that other options exist to tune our cars like Tweecer and such the older pcm retrofit just doesn't offer what the newer technology does.

There is way more to this topic than what you have heard.

Another thing that you prob heard is the Cobra pcm is really bad.

I'm gonna suggest that not only do you stay with your original pcm but at some point during your mods you very well might benefit from moving to the Cobra cal file. Many others including myself use it with very good results.

Well some of the stuff is similar but for the most basic focus of each pcm it goes like this ...... fox is rpm based and 94-95 is load based.

Bottom Line ...... Just get a Tweecer for your car and use your original pcm to get started.

btw ...... Do like BlackVert said. Go to the Tweecer site and make sure I'm not just another one of those guys that keeps spreading outdated info we talked about above.

Good Luck to you ...... Have fun with your Tweecer!

thanks, guys. black, especially appreciate the point to the tweecer forums. very helpful. i'm gonna stick with the 95, see what i can do with the tweecer.

grady, i'll probably try the cobra cal, cause my config's a lot like yours: tea ported tfs heads, cam, chinese fake edelbrock rpm, c&l tube and maf. stock tb so far. was planning to stick with the stock injectors/fuel pump, cause we set the motor up with low 8:1 compression, for when i decide to spring for the supercharger. (staying n/a for now. better to draw out the addiction.)

'preciate ya'll.
