I have a 89 coupe . Haven’t had an issue it’s my daisy but all of a sudden the power windows want to act up. I removed buttons cleaned the copper still doing it. Swapped the power window relay/fuse still the same . It’s weird but it’s doing it when I put key on forward like when it’s on. But if I shut car off and put key back that one time it works. Any ideas? Anyone

So when you say ignition switch do you mean the plastic one that goes on Colum or the cylinder key part?

Noobz is talking about the switch under the dash, I'm giving a way to 'test' that switch, the switch gets loose at the plug and stuff gets to acting funny, making intermittent connections, melting plastic.

Our beloved foxes had a recall on them plastic ign.switches, some of us use zip ties to hold them together for awhile, but they are cheap enough to just replace.

Well let's face it. Fox wiring is "barely adequate" from nose to tail.

Same basic wiring since the started putting 12 volt charging systems but it worked, stop comparing automotive systems then and now, we can still fix our cars.
Most times the door switches just need cleaning or has a loose connection.

That is a Fox body direct to power source connection. I think the part number is FK0001D9005UP. If it has a white nib by the prongs, it is from 1990–1993 and the part number is Fi0001RE9005Y.
