So it looks like I busted up the bottom ring land on #8. I struggling between just cleaning up the stock short block and throwing it back together or going with some new combo. I feel like I've been out of it so long... what are people doing these days? I always wanted to build up a nice 347, but it seems like a lot of coin right now. What do you guys say?

Good to see you on here again

But ... not under these conditions

Paul did up a stroker with his 302 Ed cam

Believe it or not

He did pretty well with the small cam

Anyway ... You gotta do some thinking now ... don't ya

347 Stroker
different OEM block for how it was before
different OEM block and a bit of boost
and more choices still

Hey ... Nothing here has changed

We all can still tell you how to spend your money :Word:
and
It causes no discomfort for us at all

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. A 331 with my 302 parts sounds kind of interesting. Maybe get rid of the Eddy Performer in favor of a Systemax. I wonder how much power that would actually buy me though. Might make for a fun torquey street car...

Ain't that the truth. That's one of the thing's I've always disliked about some people here. Not sure if that's changed as I don't post as much asking for ideas but it used to be "buy this name or it's junk"

I've bought brands that some say are junk and never had problems with them

Jake, I put my AFR165 heads, the FTI cam I had ground for them, and a holley systemax intake on a 9:1 331 and I made 380rwhp/380rwtq. I have since changed the exhaust, added AFR 185 comp heads, and had the intake ported and I made 415/410 at the wheels, all with the same old FTI cam.

Dang, Paul! That's pretty impressive!! I wonder why the small 302 cam works so well with the stroker setup?

I've been emailing with Ed. He wants me to trying selling my HCI combo and doing a 347 with new parts. I almost feel like I could get a great streetable (don't do too much racing any more) by doing something like what you've done. Sell my 165s and TMOSS ported Performer for some 185 comps and have Tom port the Systemax.

Does it seem like I'm following a couple years behind you with less impressive results??
