9 inch??

Is there any way to tell if this a 9 inch or not??

This should give you all the info you need to tell if it is an eight or a nine.

It's definitely a 9" and a Detroit Locker to boot!

that is either a 9" or a 9 3/8" center section. most likely a 9". you can tell by the bumps around the bolt holes. if you install this in the housing, and you cannot get a socket and ratchet on the lower bolt, you have a 9" center section, otherwise it is a 9 3/8" center section.

The machined case is a pretty good give away.
