9" rear with coil springs? stock?

I saw an ad the other day for a complete...drum to drum 9" rear out of a 66 mustang...stock. The ad said it was a leaf spring rear and it had coil springs. The pictures showed the rear with coil springs. It looked pretty old.

I have never heard of a system with...both.

They only wanted $225 for it....

Those could be the old JC Whitney assist springs?

not just JC whitney. Monroe stills Load Leveller shocks which have coil spring helpers. that's probably what you saw.

I'd jump on it and sort out the details later.

More likely it came from a full size Ford/Lincoln or Merc if it had coil springs only. Too wide for a Stang. Price is also too high if so.

I doubt if it is an original 9" from a 66 Mustang. If it came out of a 66 it would be a K code rear and $225 would be a steal.
