I bought the entire kit and few other pieces from 50 resto. Anyone ever replace any of this before and have any suggestions? I also bought the qtr window vertical seals and have no idea how to get the old ones off. They dont have a set screw that i can find and i dont want to break the window or mess anything up prying on anything. I hate working on the interior, and the 'vert windows are always a drag..

someone in here said the 1/4 window seals were part of the window and would not slide out.
good luck.

Hmmm. Maybe that is for the hatch quarters. The vertical seal for the convertible butts up against the door window glass and I havent seen anything anywhere that I have to replace the whole window. That would be a major drag!

I just replaced mine. I was also told the qrt. windows were sold as a unit with the weatherstrip piece. Haven't really look more into it. As far as the others, I first did the piece that goes between the top and windshield (start from the middle and work outwards), then the smaller pieces that goes above the qrt. windows. Then I did the a-pillar which was pretty straighfoward, but look out for the metal clip at the top inside the old weatherstrip and the screw at the bottom. You will need to reuse them for the new peices. I did not replace the piece that goes around the door, and if you are, you must do this piece first before you do the a-pillar. Everything fit good, some pieces needed to be cut, but I didn't cut them. The only problem I had was the fit between the pieces at the front top and a-pillar; there's a gap where you can see outside, but it doesn't leak so becareful of the fit there. Hope this helps. :nice:

I appreciate all the feedback. I hope the quarter window and seal coming together isnt accurate. Why would soffseal and 50 Resto sell the vertical quarter seals if they only come attached to a new window?

check out www.convertible-parts.com
They have every single part and full instructions for 79-93 mustang tops.

WINDOW W/S:
1983-86 Windshield pillar post w/s.............................$89 pr.
1987-88-before 10/87 Windshield pillar post w/s................$89 pr.
1988-93-from 10/87 Windshield pillar post w/s..................$89 pr.
1983-93 Quarter window division bar seal - convertible only....$54.95 pr.
1994-97 Windshield pillar post w/s, with header bow w/s........$89 pr.

This is from the website. Thanks for the link, its a good resource! I lists the part I have as a 1983-93 Quarter window division bar seal. Thankfully it doesnt have anything about it being attached to a new, and likely much more expensive, replacement quarter window.
