90 fox with dart 351

ok well im trying to figure out what is wron with a friends car,its a dart block (351) 13.5:1 comp and has a supercomp c4 or somthing like that and it keeps killing starters it will spin over fine but as soon as we put the ignition on it would either fire rite up or it would kick back and rip the teeth of the starter. what would cause this b/c we are lost now and have tryed about nething we could think of . any ideas are greatly appreciated.:SNSign:

Kicking back is a sign your timing is way off.

ok i understand that but if it was that off when it does start its fine but after it starts and gets warm it is fine but it is just egtting the dam thing to start, but im ghoing to re stab the dizzy and see if that works thanks keep the ideas coming if thanks alot.:SNSign:

That is a boat load of compression
But that may be part of the problem.

High compression will require a more powerful starter.
What kind of starter are you using? Not stock I hope?

I dont know what type of ignition is on there, but i beleive some ignitions have a start retard feature on them to aid in starting high compression engines like that one.

Most electronic ignitions do. Even the older cars used a start and run circuit on the ignition. But that was to help save the points.

well it has a msd retard box for inital start up plus a 6tn ignition box it had a powermaster high torque xss starter on it.
