What would be the best supercharger to get for a 91 5.0 Ho mustang engine...what would give it the most HP and how much would it cost?...also how much hp can you expect to get from a turbo..any help would be appreciated..thanx in advance.

If you want cheap, get the vortech s-trim, SCs are easier to put on.
the s-trim on a stock motor and some nice gears will get you in the 13s

with a nice HCI combo you will be in the 12s
plus the SC can easily be upgraded for more boost

If you want POWER get a turbo kit, takes more time to install and tune but you can get some mad HP.

Most turbo stangs i've seen ( on the net) have like 400-500 or more HP, but these guys have built motors and what not.

vortech s-trim cheap? no. the a-trim is cheap. S Trim and gears get you int the 13's? better get your ass into the 12's. h/c/i and supercharger in the 12's? again better be in the 11's. You get mad hp from a turbo? statements like these just make stangnet look like we know nothing. Careful who you take advice from.

You can also look at Summit Racing www.summitracing.com they have almost every supercharger for the Mustang from one store. There you can compare prices and decide for yourself what you want to do.

Also, before most people use a power adder they like to make sure that the car has all the supporting mods and that the engine is realitively healthy... How is your car, shape wise?

Yea when i was reading the 13's w/ a supercharger, and 12's w/ a supercharger and H/C/I combo i was like ???????? I knew this couldnt be true... but I also dont know that much about it. I figured that people have gotten their cars into 12's with just a really good H/C/I combo and sticky tires and the right gears, all depends on the way the parts/combo go with eachother - i was bewildered when i read 13's w/a supercharger lol thats funny

i ran a 13.7 with almost nothing. few exhaust pieces, pulleys, and gears. with slicks i know i could have pulled an easy low 13. Remember with a good suspension you could run 11's at as low as a 109 mph. that was proven by that 05 in muscle mustangs.

Maybe i got my letters mixed up
I got a friend who has a 91 mustang just like mine, he has the cheapest vortech kit, whichever letter that is. He has a shift kit, 3000 stall, 390s in an eaton posi, some drag radials and he says hes about mid-low 13s @100mph

all on a stock motor.
whats the letter for the cheapest vortech kit? i think he is running like 5lbs or something.

100mph? extremely low mph for a supercharger. 390's? terrible gear for a supercharger. do they even make that gear for an 8.8 rear?

Yeah pro5.0 makes them i know, he has them and i have an 8.8 in the garage with 390s in them.

The a trim kit claims to add about 70 horses, assuming a stock AOD mustang makes 190, thats 260 RWHP, he changed his exhaust removed AC and the other small things, he told me was about 270 at the wheels.

I have take a couple of rides in his car and its pretty ****ing fast. So i dont know. I think the low mph issue is because his tranny shifts into OD. I think the transgo shift kit (which he has) does something with the OD.

But he said when he ran his car shifts into OD and he loses MPH. He commented his 100mph was low also. His AOD probabably shifts out of 3rd due to the 390s, it sounded pretty high to me also.
