i just bought a 1991 mustang 2.3 and the previous owner didn't know what was wrong with it, so when i brought it home i charged up the battery and it turned over fine and had spark/fuel but wouldn't even pop or sputter. would that be my timing belt? thanks any help is appreciated
A quick check will tell you if it's the timing belt.
Pop the round plug out of the front of the timing cover.
Watch the cam gear while someone cranks the motor.
If it turns, the belt isn't broke, if it doesn't move, well...
