I bought the 9117 Tach Adapter through Auto Meter and it took me some serious time to get the damn thing in but here is the easy way. I will literally take you 10-15 mins to do it if you follow my steps. First you need to open the Fuse Box on the passenger side of the car. After you have done that disconnect the positive feed to the panel by removing the red wire that has a 10mm bolt on it. Place this away from anything negative because you will cause damage! When you have done this take a 7mm socket and loosen the retainer bolt closest to the positive feed that you have just taken off. The retainer bolt is right in the fusebox and make sure you have only taken off the one. If you need a hint to which one just take the fuse panel off the box by pulling the tabs on the side just like you removed the cover. It is the one that is neon green...loosen that one. When you have done this it should fall free and if it doesnt...yank (GENTLY!!!) on it from the bottom. Get done with that and take the neon green back plate off of the wire bundle and look for slot D5. Now to find it I had to use my dirty ass finger and rub it on the edges to see the D and the 5! Cut the electrical tape that is on the flex tubing back some to expose the wires more and cut the damn things. D5 is 2 red wires in the same slot...cut both! The wires that are in the panel you need to twist together and splice them to the Red positive wire on the 9117. The other wires that are actually in the flex tubing need to be twisted together and spliced to the Red/Green wire on the 9117. Then all you have to do is connect the Grey wire to the Green wire from the actual Tach and make sure you have a good ground. For a ground I used the battery terminal...easy ground! The ground is the Black wire...dumb ass! Tape the flex tubing back up and make it all look sexy so that when you pop your hood it doesnt look like a **** tard did the work to your car...and that would be you! Oh and make sure you secure the actual 9117 box to the car. I used double sided tape...industrial strength...to attach it to the car. Pick your own spot to place it but I used to Shock tower.
