hey guys. i've got a 92 that is not shifting out of 1st when it is in D or OD. if i shift it manually from 1st to 2nd, it will shift but as soon as i put it into D or OD, it feels like it drops back into 1st. the transmission was rebuilt about 4k miles ago. the fluid looks nice and red and there is no smell to it. i have checked the vacuum modulator and changed it even though i don't think it's bad. i have checked all of the vacuum lines under the hood and the only one that's bad is the one coming out of the egr vacuum solenoid because it's shot. the TV cable had quite a bit of slack on it so that the lever wasn't pulling on the cable until it was almost at full open throttle. don't know how much slack it should or shouldn't have, but i tightened it up a little. i also checked the radiator for a clog by pulling the lower line and it was pumping tranny fluid out of it.
i know the a4ld is a ****ty trans, but guys... please try to help me come up with ideas of what might be wrong. i really don't have the money to replace the tranny or pay a shop to rebuild it thanks to our "fundamentally strong" economy.
thanks!
