92-93 Hatch Release - Can't Find One!

My car has the hatch release (actuator) box missing on the hatch latch. I'd like to find one and have the release working. Stopped by the Ford dealer and couldn't find the part. There's some on ebay, but on the expensive side.

Were these known to be junk and is it worth tracking one down?

Anyone know the Ford part # ?

Anyone tried a universal actuator on the hatch?

Mine is missing too but I haven't ever looked into getting one...curious to see what you end up doing.

I'd like to figure something out. Currently I'm on a kick to get everything working on my car and this is about the last thing.
