I just bought a 92 5.0 lx, Was unaware of all the problems the dashlights come on with the igntion switch, also the parking an taillights come on very dim with the key on, But all lights work good an bright if you turn the lights on brakelights and blinkers seem fine. And everytime i start it the starter stays engaged for 2 seconds after it starts, Tried starting it with a screwdriver at the solinoid samething, Put new starter an solonoid on today samething, checked battery and grounds underhood also this car was converted from a auto, to a manual, the guy i bought it from works at the ford place he said it was the starter, Now i'm thinking he sold it because he couldn't fix it where Should i start with this mess ?

I just checked the wire going to the starter solnoid, and the solnoid on the fenderwell both go out soon as i release the key, checking with test lite, Online search says that rules out the ing. switch, Bought the starter at napa, Should i try another solinoid ? also found out the the starter will turn over without mashing the clutch in shouldn.t there be a safetey switch so the clutch has to be mashed in before starter engauges ?

Did you fix the clutch safety issue? That would be a priority IMO, only bad things can happen when a car is willing to start without the clutch pushed in.

With the lights, are you saying that normally they work fine, just not when the car is running?
