Lets try this again what are you trying to do??? If you mean a 2.3, T-5 behind a V-8....I don't think it will even bolt up....and if it did, it will NEVER handle the power of a V-8!!

It will bolt up with a few small modifications.....But by the looks of that engine combo your best of finding something more stout.

This site is incomplete but might help on transmission ratings:

The 5.0 tranny and the 4-cyl tanny are a little different, the 4-cyl being weaker due to the input shaft. You would need the smaller pilot bearing to fit the 4-cyl tranny, but it would bolt right up with the proper bell housing. I don't think it would last long with the torque of a big block, if I'm reading you right..

the 4 cyl t-5 is different from a v-8 but will fit and run with the 5.0. If you put too much power to it though then it will fail. You will need to change out the pilot roller bearing in the 5.0 and fit it with the 4 cyl one since the input shaft on the tranny is smaller. and use the 5.0 bellhousing I believe.

EDIT- sorry, I didn't see the above. Ourobos looks to have it correct

Yes, it will work. I've known people bolting the 4 cyl T-5 up and lasting for years on a big block. Just depends on how much you ride it rough...

Also the gear ratio is different on this tranny. It'd be like having 373's without the 373's as I've heard.
