I'm looking for the location of the back up power supply (for the air bag monitor) in my 93 coupe.
I removed the glove box and it's no where to be found.

Thanks!

That is the air bag control module.
I'm looking for the back up power supply for the air bag module.
It's a separate, smaller blue box and it's supposed to be located behind the glove box. I removed the glove box, it's not there.

So I have a 93 and am unaware of a battery backup. Where are you getting your information that there is one?

It's common knowledge, part of the Airbag system:

New OUT OF BOX OEM FORD Control Module 90-93 Mustang F0ZF-14B165-AC | eBay

New out of box part. They may have been in storage anywhere from 1-30 years. Rubber parts, gaskets, hardware may need to be replaced and may not be useable. There may be minor corrosion, scuffs, torn or missing boxes, scratches from storage, etc., none of which makes the part Defective.

It suppies 16-19 VDC as a memory back up to the micro processor in the Air Bag Control Module, it's a seperate, smaller blue box as seen in the E-Bay ad.

Not sure then. Did not see it when I had my dash apart but that was years ago. I did a search and for common knowledge it doesn’t seem to come up a lot or at all. If I get a chance I’ll get the wiring diagrams out for my 93 and see what’s in there.

Thanks
Didn't want to come off as a smart ass.
Did you click on the EBay link?
That's the part for the back up power supply.
It provides 16-19 VDC to support the Air Bag Module in the event that the car battery is disconnected or it loses it's charge.
You can also see it in Fords 1993 Air Bag Circuit Diagram.

With this diagram and the one is the post above, I'm lead to believe that the battery backup is [integrated] into the [Airbag Diagnostic Module] and not separate. Could be the reason you're not finding it.

Here's an image that shows a separate module and its location:

Here, it appears again:

From what I can tell, 90-91 had a separate battery backup while in 92+ they are integrated into the Diagnostic module.
