A friend of mine just bought a new motor for his 91 AOD GT. The new motor came with 24lb injectors, the mass air meter calibrated for the 24lb injectors, and the EEC-IV from a 93 Cobra.

Question is, will this computer run in his car? I know that certain EEC-IV's will run manual transmissions, and some will run AOD's. AND...I know you can run either a manual on a AOD computer or a AOD on a manual computer. Not sure which EEC-IV will run both types of transmissions.

Anyone know which type of EEC-IV will run both transmissions?

Should he just run his original EEC-IV or switch to the 93 Cobra EEC-IV if it will run his AOD transmission.

What would the benefits be?

Yeah, he has the maf calibrated for his 24lb injectors, just trying to figure out which EEC-IV's run both manual and aod tranny's.

Like I said, not sure if the manual computers run both or the aod computer runs both type of tranny.

AOD puters run both. Since cobras (z puter) dont come with autos as an option, I dont see it working.

Furthermore, the cobra uses a 19# meter and the calibration for the 24's occurs in the PCM. Sounds like an A9P would do your friend well.

Good luck.

True JT , but since the AOD isn't controlled by the computer and neither is the T5 I have never understood why there were different computers for both.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. I knew one of them ran both.

His stock computer from his 91 AOD should run the new engine then with his maf calibrated for his 24lb injectors?
