Well on my Cougar (sold now) I tried to instal a 1993 Cobra intake (for fox bodies), it installed okay - I had to modify a few things but it ended up working on there...

But when time came to get the engine started... OMG! The car would only run on 7 cylinders. Always #7 would not work, the injector was fine and so was the wiring. I re-installed the intake and the same thing. You could hear the ticking in the exhaust and it always was #7. It's as if the exhaust valve would stay open so there would be no gasses to combust.

So anyway I removed the intake and sold it to some guy with a fox body and he didn't call me back so I guess it worked for him. I figured it was a problem with the exhaust valve. SO the car sits for a month or two and I get a buyer for it. I proceed to re-install the stock intake manifold and get this - the car runs like a dream! Engine runs smooth and fires on all eight.

I'm thinking maybe it has to do with the Cobra intake having an internal EGR routing? I didn't block the center hole or any type of mod to the lower before installing it. Would could cause this? It's still very much on my mind because I can't figure it out.
