hrc1 The easiest way to see if they are original is to look for the Ford logo.

And if there "painted" gray not tape on black stripes, and both sides have a short second stripe from the bottom as is goes around the lens.

I had the Cobra tails on my car for about 2 hrs and 4 or 5 ppl told me that they didn't go with my car, so I put back on the LX tails back on.

MUCH better with LX lenses, I was right the first time

See, the damn OEM Cobra/SVO lenses look silver most the time. I can't get past that. If they were darker like the fakies I made for myself, I think they'd look good on your car Paul. Not as good as the LXs, probably, but better than the originals.

Of course I just don't like how the stripes look silver when the sun hits, or how they look 'dull' half the time. You have originals so you know what I mean.

i never noticed that the one stripe stopped

i have one lens off an 86 that i cleaned up, resprayed flat black and the pinstriped it, its looks brand new

AlmostK Those LX lenses look great on your car, maybe it was jus a bad picture with the Cobras. That first set of silver striped lenses looked really cool too. I can't remember where I bought mine, but they were bought before you could get them anywhere but Ford. I'll give you $75 just to have an extra set!

The funny thing is that the original tail lights on our cars was the most recognizable feature of nearly any car ever, and we all got rid of them!
