93 gt in junk yard whats it worth?

2 kids just died here in an srt 4 doing 110 going home from school. it's not just the hp of a 5.0 its the way the rear likes to swing out, the lack of traction in the rain an poor braking. Maybe it's just me but if I did get my kid a beast for a first car an something bad happened i couldn't live with it.

Whats a srt4 have anything to do with rear wheel drive? Anyways, the kid has to just respect the car and it will be fine. Had plenty of friends who drove 5.0's when they first started driving. Since I bought my car 4 years ago I can say on city streets it hasent gone over the speed limit once. May or may not believe it but I drive the car like grandma 95% of the time.

Guess I'm just old and "lame". I would say an srt 4 is more stable than a 15 year old stang myself. Of course every one is different an every kid driver is different. Some will respect the power an some will not. With the way drivers are distracted these days with cell phones and texting while driving I put my daughter in a tank for her first car. I got her a Lincoln ls v6. But hey thats the beauty of this country we can all have our own opinions an do want we want (until Jan 20th anyway).

Back to the car: it looks pretty good for sitting in a junk yard. I'd get it for myself if the motor was good.

here is the site with all the pics that i got of the car mustangs |

Hmmm - from what I can see, it looks to be in good shape, considering it's sitting in a junk yard.

If you were to buy it, will it have a clean title?
Are there any hidden body issues, mechanical problems, etc?

With that said, if it has a clean title and no issues, I would go up to $2K.
If it's got mechanical issues but has a clean title, I would say $1K.
If it's officially "junked" and has a bad title, I wouldn't go over $500.

But if it's got a clean title and no issues, why is it sitting in a junk yard?

Kinda hard to say with those pics.

But if it's in a junkyard../.$500 tops

I agree.....what you see my not be what you get. Good for a parts car for sure but a fixer upper at a big price = not worth it.

Oh........by the way check for mice droppings. If mice have been in the car it's a write-off. Every car in the junkyard around here is full of potentially harmful mouse droppings.

youve never driven an SRT4 then. big turbo power + FWD = massive torque steer yanking you all over the road and the rear end is lighter in an SRT than a mustang. one abrupt maneuver at a decent speed and you are around quicker than you can blink. my friend stuffed his into a guard rail because he was going too fast and swerved to avoid a deer. its nothing more than a neon with way too much power.

you make a good point about the mustang in the rain but if you educate the kid about how the car behaves and they have a respect and appreciation for it - they will be fine.

I heard the car run yesterday motor was quit and it had 1 5/8 headers with flowmaster and it sound like it had a b cam in it and it is an automatic i asked the guy why he had it back there he said he repoed from a guy he sold it to and he said it loses oil pressure a little but we let it run for 20 mins and stay half way on the guage he said he wanted 2500 bottom dollar

i don't think i'd pay that for a car sitting in a junkyard, it's there for a reason, maybe it's the New Yorker in me but i'm not inclined to take someone's word for it when there are large sums of money on the line... find out the body and mechanical issues with the car, take it to your mechanic if you aren't knowledgeable about foxes, and then make him an offer

just as an example: there's an '83 T-Top GT for sale on my block, it's in primer but it's totally rust free, the T-tops don't leak, full cage, runs mint, factory 5 spd, upgraded brakes, subframes, lowered, lots of max motorsports suspension parts, etc. for sale for $2000 neg, i'd buy it myself if i had the room/cash... granted the car you're looking at is 10 years newer, but i'm just trying to show you that there are better deals out there if you know where to look, best of luck :nice:

check behind the ground effects in the 1/4...those plastic panels harbor moisture and completely destroy the panels behind them, every gt ive seen so far has had at least some rust, both of mine being completely ate away. They wreak havok and im gonna bet that this one has the same kind of damage hidden away...

rust or not though its still not worth $2500 sitting in a junkyard like that
