93 Gt leans to one side

My car sits lower on one side. Probably by 1.5 inches. Its enough to be noticeable and it gets on my nerves. It is suppose to have eibach springs on it. They must be pretty old cause they are pretty rusted up. Just woundering if the springs are making it lean or what else could it be? Should I heat up the one side with a torch to try and level it out or should I just buy new springs? Thanks.

My 93 Notch does this too... Along with every mustang I ever owned. I think my problems are usually due to snagging gears

it could be the springs, and probably is. But also check the insulators on the springs...if theres nothing on one side it will be lower. This was the case with my car when i bought it.

are there isolators on the front and on the back springs?

There are isolators on the front and rear springs, top and bottom. But they are only 1/4" thick. Taking them out won't drop it an 1 inch or more. It will just makes things noisy without them.

Check your springs....sometimes they break in areas you can't see untill they are off the car.

in my case the front right(pass side) framerail is pushed up into the sheetmetal about 1", i know it was in a small wreck and this must have caused the damage..unfortunately i dont think it's fixable, so if i ever get serious about the car i'll have to buy a donor and switch the parts over..effectively making an 82GT clone..also it was only be seen with the engine out or looking very closely behind it

I have the same exact problem with my '90GT hatchback, my driver side, especially in the rear of the car is like stated above 1-1.5 inches; i thought it was the old, stock springs that were on the car, i measured it in my garage on a well leveled surface...from the ground up to the fender and it was off by 1.5inches...

This made me so pissed because it's impossible to fix, i swapped the springs out to brand new pro eibach springs in the front and the rear and as soon as i lowered it back to the ground, it had done absolutely nothing and it was still leaning to one side...SO WHAT next???

My buddy George from this one shop told me to put a spacer on the driver side, it is just a spring spacer which is just simply placed on top of the spring, its rubber and it definitely helped the LEAN of the car, BUT it's still not completely the way i want it to be b/c it's still a 0.5inch off.....
ANYONEEEEEEE? ? ?

my 89 leans about an inch lower on the passenger side, but its because my front strut is bottomed out!! check struts makes a big diff..

Stan, your Left rear sag is very common. Global West sells a spacer just for this.

There are myriad other causes for the lean in general (not the last of which is unibody tweaking).

It can be worth nothing if there is a pitch. As an example, if Stan's Driver rear was the low point, it can be telling to see if the front passenger side is higher than the front driver side. If this is the case, some folks have fixed a low driver side rear by lowering the front passenger ride height. This can end up opening a can of worms (hacking up springs) but it has helped folks in the past.

Go to http://www.globalwest.net/mustang 79-98.htm like Hissin said and scroll about half way down .. they sell spacers as the "Fox lean" is a pretty common problem.
