My car is street legal. It's mainly used for drag racing.
If I ran my exhaust without a h-pipe, would there be any loss in racing performance? Right now I have shorty headers, H-pipe (not sure if it's stock or aftermarket), cat's, Flowmasters. There's an exhaust shop in my area that does some quality work. I was going to eliminate the H-pipe so I can have more up and down clearance for my driveshaft loop. Also, I need more left to right clearance on the mufflers.
I was going to have them do a true dual exhaust set-up with some exhaust cut outs welded in after the headers(so i can run open exhaust at the track), then the cats, and the Flowmasters.
I may put some long tube headers on, but I'm not sure if there would be that much of a performance difference with this motor at the moment?
My motor is a Ford Racing 302 345hp crate motor with the b-303 cam. Rpm operating range is 4000- 6000.
