I flew from Texas to N.C. to buy my calypso, and two months after I bought it the previous owner was begging me to sell it back to him because he can't find another one. There aren't a ton of them left, and a lot of them got color changes. I think you'd sell it for more actually if you left it calypso.

EDIT:My '08 FX4 is black and it sucks pond water keeping it looking nice.

Ford built a total of 1227 Calypso 5.0 coupes between 1991 and 1993. Only 519 in 1993. Probably less than half of those were 5-speed. I would bet $100 that your car is one of less than 300.

My source is the Foxbody Mustang Recognition Guide, 1979-1993.

They made more hatches than coupes and covertibles combined. In 1992 it lists 1,121 Calypso hatches. 885 in 1993 and 521 in 1991.

This is what my car looks like basically. The pic of the rear rim is a current photo of the 5 lug swap.
The rebuild process has been extremely slow if nonexistent at times where the car currently is. However a plan is in place to get things taken car of (hopefully finished and driving by first of year).

Keep it calypso, I saw a Calypso hatch the other day with silver deep dish SCs and ultra clears and I nearly shat myself. It was unbelievably gorgeous.

I was under the assumption your car was a total piece of ****. Its only slightly, it'll be 3 times the work to do a color change. Leave it alone

I thought it was a Piece, HAHA. Keep in mind that this Notch is also a Southern Life car and has Zero rust. I bought the car running with a rear main oil leak, unable to shift to 2nd or 4th. I drove it 50 miles to where it currently is now. One thing led to another and I told the guy to pull the engine and do a full rebuild. It came with Holley Systemax uppper, lower, Long tube headers, Flow max muffs, Edlebrock MAF, and some other small odd/ends.

So far I have:
Rebuilt engine - Stock bore, Extremely clean cyclinders
New engine internals throughout,
Rebuilt Head - Yes all stock
Brand New T5Z transmission
5 lug conversion from 95gt, with new cobra master cyclinder and booster
New shocks
373's with new clutches
New clutch
99 anniversary rims with Michelin Tires

Things I have to be installed but not in,
Carpet,
Door panels,
Headliner,
Door Handles,
Door hinge kit,
All rubber seals,
Lots of Dynomatt,
And so forth.

CUrrently I'm on the paint issue.
I had one guy local tell me I should just sell it and find a donor body for all my parts.......

Macn89- Sorry but I'm not a hatch guy. I'm a notch fan, always have been.

Another idea I have is this...
Build this one back to original (paint).
If I love it, I love it. If not I can always sell and look for a
black notch. Oh and loose my butt on $$ in the process, haha.

Always wanted a 92-93 notch , Don't want a v8 conversion though.

I simply couldn't paint a car anything besides its stock color. I just don't have it in me. I would always think of the car and remember what it should be.

Yes, it is Calypso. Don't you dare paint that car black! If you have to have another color sell it, and buy another color!

My car always has a blueish look in photos or in shade, but under bright sunlight it's a green as can be.

While i don't care for calypso, if the car isn't already apart for paint, the suggestion above to sell it and buy the color you want may not be such a bad idea.
Changing a car's color can be a major PITA and very expensive.
Paint work in NJ is very expensive at it is. Changing the cars color means you have to take pretty much the entire car apart. Recently estimates to paint my car have been between 3 and 4k to paint it factory red.
That number jumped to 6k to paint it black and that doesn't include removing the engine.
