Interesting. Not the kind of responses I thought would come from three people so highly regarded (re:94/95 Member of the Year Award thread) on this board.

Personally I like the 96+ lights (I almost envy being able to sequence them), I just happen to like the 94-95's better. What can be done to spiff(?) up our lights a little more? Without going "rice" that is.

You can put in the 96-98 lights, but I believe there is a slight change to the wiring harness required -- it's not just bolt-in. But it's apparently not too difficult to make the conversion, a number of people have done it.

It's your car, do what you want. But I agree with the other folks who say keep the horizontals. Who would want to be confused with a 4.6L?

1. Well, I didnt vote for me..others did. REASON: I saved ALL OF THEM from changing their lights, and now they are showing their gratification!

2. Click on my website and look at the bezels. You can save money by painting the black on there...ALSO, Fine Wet-sand the red lenses, then polish them up..They will look more clear red.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

I recently did this, but it was because I bought my car vandalized w/ no windows/tail lights.. but since have gotten all i need for a perfect car. If you want to do 96-98 tail lights.. you will have to get the light harness from the 96-98 car also. The only difference is one of the bulbs on the 94-95 is a really small bulb, and the 96-98 uses 5 big bulbs. Its very simple to do. Just make sure when you get the tail lights to get the harness also.

edit.. the tail lights do directly bolt on, and to change the harness it just unclips.. guys.. this is VERY simple to do.

All you need to do is on the 94-95 harness, cut the small little bulb off and replace it with a 3157 bulb socket. Then all the bulbs will fit in the 96-98 lights.

Sorry, even though my car is a 94 GT, I did not have any intentions on putting the original tail lights back on it. I like the 96-98 a lot better. They show off the car more.

To his/her there own. But around here you'll find the 96-98 tail lights are, for a lack of better words, looked down upon.

I know this isn't what you are saying, but I'm not ashamed of having a 5.0... that is why I bought a 94-95.. the 5.0 is still the dominate species . I am just talking about looks.

1.) You're a nut. You guys are going to give some poor kid a freak'n heartattack.
2.) The black around the lenses looks good. But, I never pictured that on my car. Maybe if there was something else helping to break up all the red. In the mean time, cleaning the lenses will be right on time. Those before and after pictures are a winner. I'll be a wet sanding after Christmas (maybe after dinner, the ole lady won't like that!).

Thankx, Steve.

Hey, whenever you get the tail lights.. then get the harness also.. usually a salvage yard will include it. If you are buying it from a private individual then he probably won't give you the harness cause he still has to use it. The guy above is talking about changing out one of the sockets and soldering the connections so it will fit.
