94 gt Racks Radiators!!!

Years ago had a small fender bender. Enough to bust one headlight and the headlight mount. Replaced everything new looked great... 4-5 maybe 6 yrs later, radiator springs a leak.

Replace single core oem with aluminum dual core. with-in a month it started leaking. Called company had a new one shipped immediately. Installed new one, same thing, leaking... So I parked it. Bought a jeep, and got that right...

Meantime had the first radiator tested and fixed. Guy told me all four corners were leaking. He wondered if I dropped it. I hadn't...

Any ideas what could be causing my radiators to bind and get racked and twisted to break all for corners

I've had PLENTY of these go out on me. My reason was the body flex the Mustangs have. I would break Radiators every 2-4 weeks. Mishimoto brand. I was one of the first to get the updated mountings. Still busting them. Mishimoto was to the point of giving me a refund. LOL.

Until... I bought MM Full Length Subframe Connectors. I've been running the radiator for about 7 months now, and no issues. AT ALL.

Edit: I'm running a 3 row all aluminum radiator. It's a tight fit. I am giving it as much flex as possible. With the new supports and connectors, it's doing really good. It's survived Fresno's heat.

mine were mishimoto too!! ive got two of them one is repaired and the other is still in the car. mine are past warranty tho.. how many replacements did you get???

What were the updated mounting you got????

It could be a flexing issue, but honestly, those Mishimoto radiators are cheap, and known to have problems. I would try a better quality radiator.

It's not the radiators themselves that are the problem but the mountings. The stock mountings don't have enough "give" so when the body flexes, the radiator gets pulled apart in the corners. SFC's would certainly help but mountings that allow a little more movement would solve the problem altogether.
I solved mine by adding a thick washer behind one of the driver's side upper mount bolt holes (the one nearest to the fender). I still have the stock mounts and a Mishimoto radiator (3 years).

Hard to say. I never heard of so many cracking radiators until these Mishimoto ones hit the market. I've had my aluminum radiator for about 8 years, but I also have subframe connectors.

I had my Mishimoto for two years before before it sprung a leak. I have SFC and a 6 point cage. Needless to say my car does not flex. Ive had the replacement one since this spring w/ the updated mounts and Ive had no issues but Ive stopped driving the car as of last month until next spring but to this point its been fine

Fluidynes had even worse problems and they're double the price of the Mishimotos. I'd certainly be a lot more p***ed off if a $400 radiator leaked on me.

TOO late for me mine Fluidyne sprung a leak two years after the warranty was up piece of junk I bought a summit racing universal and I've had it for 4 years with no issues

Yeah, I've heard that too. I have C&R radiator which is a NASCAR grade radiator. Haven't heard anything about the BeCool radiators.

I forgot all about this thread. Funny the Rads I had problems with were mishimoto as well...

UPDATE: Had another repaired mishimoto in there for a few months. Not driven too often until recently, and its leaking again. So sfc are on their way and I will work on the mounts too.

Next is the front suspension. All original, Want to replace it all. anyone wanna ring in with some setup advice?

You know, it's really amazing how well a stock BRAND NEW replacement radiator cools a motor! Most people believe the stock radiator is poorly designed and thus causes overheating which is not the case. The problem is Mustangs in general are not taken care of as well as they should be and by the time an enthusiast gets hold of one the damage is done. Not to mention when you rack up 100-150k miles the radiator has seen it's better days.

Anyway, I've always just installed stock replacements and never had any cooling issues. I'm running a supercharged motor with it's 200+ inlet temps in FL summer heat with the stocker and it cools just fine. Unless you're making tons of HP the stock radiator will do the job, just my .02
