ok guys help me out here my friend changed his intake on his 94 gt it ran before the intake swap he is running 24 pound ford injectors with the proper mass air meter but he isn't getting any fuel to the cylinders the fuel pump is working can hear it come on as well as have good pressure in the rails has spark as well please help us out he is leaving in a 10 day to go back to iraq for a year and his car isn't running and has to go into storage like in a week. thanks. Oh yeah checked the the vlotage at the to the injectors on number 5 cylinder with the key in the on poistion/run start position as well as intial key on and am getting on milli volts not any full voltage I'm beliving it should be like 5 volts please help thanks chris.

Was the distributor removed during this swap? I am asking because you could have spark to the plugs but not at the right time. Make sure timing is pretty close and it will still start and then can set timing after she's running. Maybe some others have some ideas and will chime in here too. Good Luck and tell your friend to be carefull over there, I've heard it could be dangerous :( .
I am 100% proud of our men and women over there. Good Luck and Godspeed until he can get back to the USA and that Mustang!! :flag:

What kind of maf? How do you know it's not getting fuel to the cylinders?

I'd say it's timing. Since you pulled the dizzy during the swap, you're gonna have to manually set the timing. Bring the #1 cylinder to TDC on the compression stroke. Then drop the dizzy in to where the rotor points to where the #1 point will be on the cap (usually straight back towards the intake). Now make sure when you put the cap back on, to get the wires on right. 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

use starting fluid, take off the intake rubber, spray then put rubber back on. if it fires, its injector/gas problem. if not, prob 180 off on the dizzy although you have no backfire or gas smell on the plugs. idk

Chris, what is the car actually doing when you try to start it? Will it crank? Does it crank continually, but never fire? Does it pop upon cranking? We need more info to try and troubleshoot your problem. I would still put money on the timing though. :nice:

2nd on the timing. Seems like a ton of guys run into that.

Another easy check - look at all your fuses. You coulda picked up a short and burnt something out.

Did it ever turn over when trying after the intake install - sputter and die once? Or has it been purely no go?

94 gt no start

it starts on starting fluid. I does crank no pop no nothing like i was saying. He claims they didn't touch the dizzy when they changed intakes but I did an intake on a 94 gt myself and I don't belive that one bit. I changed the intake on my foxbody with out pulling the dizzy but no way on a sn 95. Does anybody know what the voltage at the injector harness should be a intial key on or cranking I'm getting only millivolts an full volts at all. I have checked all the fuses as well under th dash and as well as in the engine bay. He add a jet power cheap. but with or without the chip it doesn't start. it has good spark how would i check to make sure it is not 180 off time. thankss for all the help guys hope we can get it sorted out before hee lives for iraq. thankss again guys

Doesn't sound like timing so much now.....

I think that I have read on here that the PIP in the distributor is how the computer knows the car is cranking and subsequently pulses the injectors. Is this right? Because if you have good fuel pressure in the fuel rails, then the only thing left to keep fuel out of the intake are the injectors which must not be pulsing. I have cranked a vehicle with fuel injection with no spark plugs in and it def smelled like gas, very strong odor of gas. So, you would know if you didn't get that smell that the injectors are not firing. The noid light would tell you that too. Just hook it up and crank the motor, it will let you know if theres the proper voltage to the injector. Some place like Autozone or O'Reilly or maybe Pep Boys might rent the Noid light so you wouldn't have to buy it just for this. It might be worth calling around to you local auto parts stores to see if they rent tools like this. Autozone actually just takes a deposit on the tools and when you bring them back they give you a 100% refund on what you rented. So, it doesn't really cost you anything to use the tools. Sorry about the long post, just kind of thinking/typing out loud.
Good Luck!!

94 gt no start

ok well like i said checked it for voltage with my voltmeter and basically got nothing so what do I do after no voltage at the injectors. I will call around see if I can get a noid to check injectors as well thanks for the help guys .

well the pip tells it to spark and also to fire the injectors. so if it is bad, no spark. check your fuses, your connections, thats about it, if they are not firing, and you have spark, maybe its a bad computer??

I would take a long hard look at that JET piece of crap. I ran one before I didn't really know whats going on. Not that I do now, I just know that I don't know.

Anyway, I would remove the JET chip and see if it fires.

Dumb question, but did you check all the connections going into the injectors? They all go where they're supposed to? Its almost impossble to switch up but I'm running out of ideas.

ideas

yeah I will check it all over later on today I'm out of ideas that is why i came to you guys. he said that he tried sstarting it with and with out the chip it still has the chip in it now though. I will see whats hopefully later thanks for your time guys

i would also check and make sure you didn't remove any grounds, check all wires that were undone for install......

Based on everything so far i am with the person above on the PIP inside the dist...but other options are possible...
