While I personally can find far better things to spend money on, a friend of mine is busy drooling at the mere thought of getting a Cobra R hood for his '95 GT. Has to be carbon fiber he says. Trouble is, I can't find anyone who makes them. (Am I a lazy sack of *****? All signs point to yes.)

So..uh..does anybody make them? Decent ones with good fit/finish?

Thanks,

Mike

i thought someone posted a yellow CF cobra r "ish" hood. might have had a lil bit bigger of a cowl on it tho. i cant remember for the life of me what thread it was but do a search for carbon fiber and you should find the thread

yeah there are CF cowl hoods but not an actual Cobra R hood....

also your finding them hard to find because honestly i think of all the 94-95 members here at Stangnet i know of 1 guy who has a carbon fiber hood...they are not very popular AT ALL....

Yeah, I don't even like 'em myself, I mean it's already fiberglass, that's light enough. Can't seem to convince my younger, more rice-influenced buddy though. Maybe if I tell him he could get "naws" for the same coin..

I don't think a CF hood is ricerish. When I think ricer I think rediculous pricy mods that don't do anything for performance and are in bad taste. A CF hood is a legit form of weight reduction and on the right color car, it looks great.

Some old muscle cars had *flat* black hoods, and that was for a reason, to reduce glare off the hood. CF is shiney, so no dice.

Can't argue weight reduction of course, except to say that for the money, you could deffinately get more performance. To each his own I guess..
