Howdy! My 1995 Cobra convertible pulls pretty hard to the right when braking... worse at higher speeds. I figured it was the caliper or hose, so I replaced BOTH side's calipers AND hoses with new ones. No change... still pulls pretty hard while braking.

It doesn't pull when driving, so the alignment seems fine... and it doesn't shutter while braking, so the rotors aren't warped.

Any ideas??? Wheel bearing maybe? Something in the rear brakes??? Master cylinder issue??

Check the ball joints and tie rods

Make sure your tires are good, when was the last time you had an alignment?

When you turn the direction that the car pulls, while driving, do you notice any noises or vibration?

Take a look at your tires to see if they are worn; if they are, your alignments off.

I had exactly the same problem on my 96 V6 Stang. I thought it was the brakes until one day on my way to work, as I was rolling up to a stop sign, the ball joint on the passenger side separated. Thank God I was on on the highway yet. Anyway, I replaced both ball joints and the car has braked perfectly ever since. I say check your ball joints. If it pulls right, it's probably the passenger side. If it pulls left, it's probably the driver side.

Check the steering rack bushings 'cause if one of them is worn, you'll get the exact symptoms that you've described.

ctrout71... you win! My passenger side ball joint was shot. Replaced it and it brakes like new again! THANKS!

Wanted to update this in case anyone finds this thread in a search.
