Ok so today I went out and tinkered with it some more.

First I drove it until it got hot to recreate the problem. Luckily I got home without the slightest issue not even 3mins after I park it from returning home (still running) it stalls out and won't restart.

Anyhow.

You can hear the injectors clicking and they have power. Is there a correct way to test these?

Coil has 12v with key on, no spark @ spark plug wires coil puts out weak spark on initial hit of the key.

A noid light tests the electrical side of the injector.

If the quality of spark deteriorates as a function of time or engine heat (which is how electrical items often fail), consider swapping in a fresh coil. The weak spark indicates that the PIP and TFI are functional and sending a signal.

Now if you find that the injectors are not clicking or dont have consistant power across them (remember, 12 volts is constant, ground is modulated) and the spark ever completely goes away, that's when you have to consider the PIP and/or TFI.

Based on what you said, it sounds like a weak coil.

A foxbody coil should work fine. Half the coils for that era of Fords are the same.

Swapped with foxbody coil did not solve the problem. I'm really considering ordering a MSD dist so I can rule out crappy parts store parts but they are kinda pricey last time I looked....

i have an MSD billet dizzy and it only put a band aid on the stalling. it wasn't long before it went back to the same thing. so save your money.

i also read that the reman dizzy are garbage also. and it was recomended to rebuild the dizzy with ford parts. which is what i'm about to do.

btw what brand of TB do you have?

Has anyone suggested checking the grounds for the engine? The stock ground wire is hooked up to the driver's motor mount and goes to the frame rail. You may want to add another ground from the passenger motor mount to the frame on that side.

I'd also check the power connector on that side. Isn't there some sort of a capacitor attached to the side of the coil mount? I'd also check where the coil mounts to the bracket, make sure the screws are clean and tight.

EDIT: The ground wire can get corroded, might be worth replacing the ground wire completely. I replaced mine with one I got at my local parts shop, it was in the battery section. Dunno what gauge it was, anyone have a recommendation?
