95 Factory Cobra Intake

So whats the deal with these intakes? I have one on my car and am looking at getting a upgraded model but the cobra intakes seem to be worth a good bit of money. Is it a good unit to keep or should I get a new one? I'm getting heads and cam to go with it soon.

that intake is good up until 400hp, i had it on my 95 cobra but recently took it off to put the edelbrock performer rpm II on, which made a world of difference. i also have a vortech s trim, 331 stroker, and edelbrock victor jr heads so the intake was a little on the small side for my setup. i ended selling the cobra intake to some kid in colorado for over 300 bucks.

Keep up till about 350rwhp or so then go with an aftermarket one such as the RPMII. your going with heads and a cam you can keep the intake if you changed now you would prolly not notice a difference.

With a HCI I would only recommend getting the lower ported. That will improve the flow and save you a few bucks compared to a new intake.

Tmoss on here does some good porting work on the lowers. I haven'y used him yet but will do so in the near future.
